The 15th annual Taylor Conservatory Tree Lighting opens the holiday season at the Taylor Conservatory & Botanical Gardens in Heritage Park. Families gather for twinkling lights, festive holiday music and a cozy bonfire, and Santa Claus makes a special appearance to light the Conservatory Christmas tree at 5:30 p.m. The calendar entry begins at 5:00 p.m., so arrive early to warm up by the fire before the lighting. No fee is printed on the listing. It is a short, low-key evening that suits families with young children who want to see Santa without a long parade wait. For details call the number printed by the city, (734) 442-4224.
