About this adventure
More than 60 decorated and lit powerboats and sailboats travel the length of Clear Lake and out through the Kemah Channel in this long-running holiday parade, produced by the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and presented by the six lakeside cities. Fireworks over Nassau Bay at 6 PM signal the start, and boats leave from the Nassau Bay Lagoon and South Shore Harbour Marina; the parade usually reaches Seabrook and the Kemah Boardwalk around 7:30 PM. Families can watch from land at any of the listed public viewing spots: the Kemah Boardwalk, both sides of the Kemah/Seabrook Channel, Nassau Bay Lagoon, South Shore Harbour Marina, Clear Lake Shores, or the Davis Road Canal at Constellation Pointe. Organizers say crowds traditionally top 100,000 people on land and on hundreds of anchored boats, so arrive early for parking, bring warm layers for the evening breeze off the water, and pick one viewing spot rather than trying to follow the boats. Residents can also register their own boat with the Chamber.
