Kemah Boardwalk's 25th Boo on the Boardwalk wraps up on Halloween weekend with free family activities along the waterfront. Children in costume can trick-or-treat at the Boardwalk's retail stores, and on Halloween afternoon there are kids' crafts, a balloon artist and a haunted DJ in the Main Plaza, followed at 5:30 PM by a free kids' costume contest in four groups (ages 0–4, 5–11, 12–18 and groups; top three in each win a small toy). Friday night ends with an outdoor Fright Night movie at 7:45 PM. The Little Boo Haunted Fun House is the gentle, kid-sized walk-through ($6 per person); the separate Phobia haunted houses are aimed at older thrill-seekers and are ticketed. Rides, food and the fun house are paid.
