Organizer

Ice at the Galleria

Ice at the Galleria is Houston's year-round indoor rink, set in the Center Food Court of the Galleria mall beneath a glass dome, so families can watch skaters from the shopping levels above or join a public session themselves. Admission and skate rental let a skater stay for the whole public session, but tickets are single-entry with no in-and-out, so plan to skate, rest and eat in one go. Besides public skating the rink runs one of the area's biggest Learn to Skate programs, broomball, camps and group events, and in the holiday season its skaters perform the Nutcracker on Ice and appear at the Galleria's tree lighting. Because the rink sits inside the mall, it is a reliable winter outing regardless of Houston weather. Note the published closures around the holiday setup: closed Friday, October 30 and Sunday, November 1 for Nutcracker performances and November 2–4, 2026 for the tree installation. Session times and availability change at the rink's discretion, so check before you go; the best entrance is the Orange Parking Garage on West Alabama.
