About this adventure

The Indiana Historical Society fills the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center with more than 75 decorated Christmas trees, each built around its own theme, for its annual Festival of Trees. Families walk the galleries looking for favorite trees, and the season includes special programming such as cookie decorating and a Holiday Author Fair. On Twilight Nights, select Tuesdays and Thursdays in December (Dec. 1, 3, 8, 10, 15, 17 and 22), the festival stays open from 5 to 8 p.m. so families can see the trees lit up after dark. Regular hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; the center is closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Holiday pricing varies from normal admission (normally $5 for youth 5–17 and free under 5); IHS members get free admission by reserving online. A free parking lot is on New York Street.
