About this adventure

The site of Florida's largest Civil War battle, fought on Feb. 20, 1864 in a pine forest near Olustee. More than 10,000 troops took part, including three regiments of U.S. Colored Troops such as the 54th Massachusetts. A mile-long trail with interpretive signs walks families through what happened, and there is a picnic area. Entry is free. The park museum has been closed since July 16, 2026, so the visit is the outdoor trail and grounds. A reenactment is held every February.
