A Missouri Department of Conservation naturalist leads a guided archery session at the Anita B. Gorman Conservation Discovery Center in midtown Kansas City. Beginners learn archery safety, how the equipment works, shooting fundamentals, maintenance and safe storage, while those with some experience can work on their skills. MDC provides the bows and arrows. The hour-long session runs 5 to 6 p.m. on Friday, October 23. It is for ages 8 and up and registration is required; as of mid-October only a few of the 20 seats remained.
