Fort Osage National Historic Landmark in Sibley offers an evening guided tour by candlelight in which costumed interpreters portray the fort's early-19th-century residents. Visitors learn how people lived, worked and adapted at this frontier outpost, and how they marked Christmas in very difficult conditions. The education center adds Christmas decorations, music and activities for all ages. Tours run in the evening from 5 to 9:30 p.m., with registration through the county's online system. Tickets are $15 per adult and $10 for youth ages 3 to 15 and seniors 65 and up; Pogo Pass is not accepted. Dress warmly, since much of the tour is outdoors after dark.
