Nature center in Swope Park owned and operated by Kansas City Parks and Recreation, with support from Friends of Lakeside Nature Center. It houses about 60 native animals including bald eagles and other birds of prey, mammals, reptiles, amphibians and fish, runs a wildlife hospital, and has native gardens and the Fox Hollow Trail. The gardens and trails are open daily dawn to dusk.
