About this adventure
This Early Explorers storytime at the Las Vegas Natural History Museum reads The Gift of the Great Buffalo by Carole Lindstrom. Children follow Rose, a young Métis-Ojibwe girl, as she joins her family and community on a buffalo hunt and learns about the relationship between people, animals and the land on the prairie. The session encourages listening, reflection and discussion, connecting early literacy with themes of nature, culture and gratitude during Native American Heritage Month. It is recommended for ages 3 to 8, lasts about an hour and is included with museum admission or membership. Supplies are limited and first come, first served, and the museum offers an online RSVP.
