About this adventure
A hands-on holiday workshop for children ages 4 to 10 at the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden in Arcadia. Each child builds a holiday wreath from seasonal natural materials gathered on the Arboretum grounds plus selections from the LA Flower Mart, guided by the Arboretum's education staff. Every wreath maker needs a paid ticket, and each ticket also admits one accompanying adult guardian; a grown-up who wants to make their own wreath alongside the child needs a separate wreath-maker ticket. Space is limited, so the Arboretum asks for only one adult per child. The 90-minute session is held outdoors at the Learning Patio, which has a private entrance next to Ayres Hall at the north end of the main parking lot. Check-in opens 15 minutes before the start, and plant materials are first come, first served. The Arboretum asks participants to dress for the weather and bring hats, sunscreen and insect repellent. The program may be cancelled for weather, in which case registrants are notified.
