Long Beach Ballet's Nutcracker returns to the Terrace Theater at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center for two December weekends. This production is known for its large-scale special effects and is accompanied by the full Long Beach Ballet Orchestra under Roger Hickman playing Tchaikovsky's score; students from the Long Beach Ballet Academy perform alongside the company each December. Performances are Saturday, December 12 at 2 and 7:30 p.m., Sunday, December 13 at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 19 at 2 and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, December 20 at 2 p.m. Tickets are sold through Ticketmaster (service fees) or in person with no fees at the Long Beach Convention Center box office, 330 E. Seaside Way; groups of 10 or more get a discount. Arrive early for food trucks and photo ops; structure parking is $15 per car. The matinees are the easier choice for younger children.
