Tarzana Recreation Center's Halloween-day festival in the West San Fernando Valley centers on pumpkins and scarecrows. Families can enter the pumpkin carving contest, play carnival games, make crafts, bounce in the moon bounce, join costume contests and browse community booths, with music, light refreshments and candy through the day. It runs 11 am to 3 pm on Saturday, October 31, is open to all ages and is free. Come in costume and bring a carved pumpkin if you plan to enter the contest.
