Sistrunk Boulevard closes between NW 9th and 11th Avenues for one of Fort Lauderdale's liveliest holiday nights. The free evening combines a giant tree lighting at 7 pm with live bands, a toy giveaway by the Black AIDS Advisory Group, a health fair and food trucks. Younger children have a kids' zone with Santa, bounce houses, slides and arts and crafts; teens get their own area with a DJ and activities, and the PLAY Fort Lauderdale after-school program performs at 6 pm. Arrive early if you are coming for the toy giveaway.
