More than 50,000 holiday lights are switched on along the Fort Lauderdale beachfront, and 'Olas', the city's 20-foot beach snowman, returns to A1A and Las Olas Boulevard. The evening at Las Olas Oceanside Park has a kids' zone with Santa, inflatables and slides from 5:30 to 8:30 pm, a lighting ceremony at 6:30 pm and a performance by the Fort Lauderdale Symphonic Winds. Plan on beach-area parking and a short walk; the snowman photo stop is the big draw for younger children.
