The Galt Ocean Mile neighborhood lights its holiday tree at North Beach Restaurants and Shoppes on 33rd Street, co-hosted by the shops and the City of Fort Lauderdale. From 5:30 to 8:30 pm children can drop letters at a Letters to Santa station, do make-and-take crafts and pose for gingerbread man and gingerbread house photos, while a pop-up holiday market runs alongside. From 6 pm the Grinch and Cindy Lou, Elf and Jovie stroll the street with a stilt-walking nutcracker and balloon artists; the tree is lit at 6:30 pm and live holiday music continues until 8:30. A compact, walkable block party that suits preschool and school-age kids.
