About this adventure

Art + Nature Lab is Lynden Sculpture Garden's after-school studio class in which upper-elementary and middle-school students work as artists, choosing their own subjects, materials and approaches rather than following a single project. With access to a wide range of tools and media, participants experiment, solve problems and develop their ideas into finished pieces, drawing inspiration from the garden's outdoor sculpture collection and its 40 acres of park, lake and woodland. The program is student-driven, so it suits kids who already love to draw, paint or build and want room to follow their own ideas while learning from teachers and peers in a supportive group. The fall second session meets on seven Thursday afternoons from late October to mid-December, with no class over Thanksgiving week. Group size is limited and advance registration is required; members get a reduced fee, and families can add a membership when registering.
