Wayzata's holiday kickoff on Lake Street, held this year on the Friday before Thanksgiving. From 5 to 7 PM: free glow light wands on Lake Street (handed out before the parade), a llama photo opportunity at Depot Park, hot cider, treats and a reindeer-food children's activity inside the historic Wayzata Depot, letters to Santa at Panoway Plaza, horse-drawn wagon rides on Lake Street, strolling carolers and music, plus a Toys for Tots collection and an IOCP food drive. A children's candy hunt for ages 5 and under starts at 5 PM at Depot Park, the Wayzata Firefighters' Parade of Lights runs on Lake Street from Broadway to Barry Ave at 5:45 PM, and the town lighting ceremony with the Mayor follows at Panoway Plaza. A winter medallion hunt runs the week before (clues posted Nov 9-13); the first child or family to find it lights up Wayzata.
