Hudson, Wisconsin's holiday kickoff on the evening after Thanksgiving. Santa is escorted to Lakefront Park and, with a wave of his wand, switches on the thousands of lights in the holiday display along the St. Croix River. The free event runs 7-8:30 p.m. on Friday, November 27, the same day as the downtown 'Plaid Friday' shop-local push. Once lit, the display stays up all winter as 'Buena Vista: A Stroll in the Park.' Dress warmly for an outdoor riverfront evening.
