Minnesota Dance Theatre's new Nutcracker production with original choreography by Gemma Bond, Darrius Strong, Brady Farrar, Aloe Liu and Katie Deutich. The Cowles Center pitches it as an ideal introduction to ballet for young children. Lakes Area Music Festival plays live, and a choir from Lake Country School sings at each show. Seating is general admission.

What was checked & what still needs confirmation
Neither page prints the year, but Dec 18 falls on a Friday in 2026, which matches the Cowles weekday listing. The run time conflicts: Cowles says 1 hour with no intermission, mndance.org says about 90 minutes. Prices come from mndance.org. Phone and email are the Cowles box office contact.
