About this adventure
On the last Monday of most months, the Frist opens its galleries and the Martin ArtQuest art-making space with priority access for homeschooling families. On October 26, children can spend the whole day at ArtQuest's interactive stations (painting, printmaking, animation and more) and explore the exhibitions Shimmer: Dreaming the Posthuman and Robin Vuchnich's In Search of Thoreau's Flowers on their own. Museum art teachers lead short tours of Shimmer at 10:30 and 11:30 am, starting at the Information Desk inside the Main-Level gallery entrance, and a docent-guided walk-up tour for all ages starts at 1:30 pm with no reservation. Guests 18 and under are free, and accompanying adults pay a discounted rate. There is no Homeschool Monday in November or December because of the holidays.
