About this adventure

Shelby Bottoms Nature Center sits at the main trailhead of Shelby Bottoms Greenway in East Nashville, next to Shelby Park. Naturalists at the desk help identify animals and plants, and a sightings notebook lets visitors log what they saw. The flat paved greenway suits bikes and strollers and connects to the Stones River and Cumberland River greenways; deer, groundhogs, beavers, foxes and many birds live here, and the area is an Important Bird Area. Shelby Park and the greenway also hold several geocaches. Trail maps are available at the center.
