About this adventure
UCPAC's Popcorn & Pajamas film series for young children screens Jim Henson's 1977 holiday special Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas at the intimate Hamilton Stage in Rahway, with two Saturday shows. Kids are invited to come in their PJs, get a free popcorn (one per person), and stop at a craft table before the movie to make something to take home. The story, based on O. Henry's 'The Gift of the Magi' with songs by Paul Williams, follows Emmet and his Ma in Frogtown Hollow as each secretly enters a talent contest to buy the other a Christmas present — gentle, short and well suited to preschoolers and early-elementary children. Doors open an hour before each film for the crafts. Tickets are $10 all-in; popcorn and crafts are available while supplies last. The presentation is digital.
