The Children's Museum of Manhattan marks Hanukkah with a Music and Marks performance and art-making session led by Meshuganah Mambo, a New York band that fuses klezmer melodies with mambo and cumbia rhythms. Families hop and dance along to the groove-forward set, then make special holiday cards to give to loved ones. Two 35-minute sessions run on Sunday, December 6, at 2:00 and 3:00 pm in the museum's PlayWorks space, and the museum lists the program for all ages. The same day CMOM also runs drop-in Hanukkah crafts, including candle crafting, a collaborative menorah installation and dreidel design, so families can make an afternoon of it. The Children's Museum of Manhattan is designed for children ages 0–6; the program is included with museum admission (members free).
