About this adventure
Calpulli Mexican Dance Company brings its holiday family show Navidad to El Teatro at El Museo del Barrio for a Sunday afternoon performance. The one-hour production tells the story of a young girl raised by Mexican immigrant parents in New York City as she navigates Mexican and American holiday traditions, told through folklórico and contemporary dance, live music and storytelling. It is billed as an all-ages family show, and at about an hour it works for preschoolers through tweens; children who have seen Calpulli's dancers at school assemblies will recognize the costumes and music. Tickets are sold through the company's ticket link (the museum's listing shows $23.18), and the box office can be reached at lisa@calpullidance.org. A separate weekday school performance on December 15 is for school groups only.
