New York City Ballet's George Balanchine's The Nutcracker returns to the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center from November 27, 2026 through January 2, 2027. Set to Tschaikovsky's score, the ballet follows young Marie through a dreamlike world of mischievous mice, swirling snow and confections from around the world, with a Christmas tree that grows before the audience's eyes. More than 150 dancers and musicians and more than 120 children from the School of American Ballet, in two alternating casts, take part. The performance runs about two hours. NYCB recommends it for ages 5 and up, and every patron, including small children sitting on laps, needs a ticket. There is no late seating or re-entry once the curtain is up, and all sales are final. Optional 'Sweet Seat' bundles add premium seating, a souvenir book and a treat.
