Organizer

Rockefeller Center

The outdoor rink sunk below the Rockefeller Center plaza has been a New York skating tradition since 1936, and the 2026–27 season marks its 90th year. A General Skate ticket gives a timed 60-minute session on the ice, with up to 20 extra minutes if the ice is resurfaced during your slot; arrive no more than 10 minutes before your entry time. Every person entering the rink area needs a ticket, including grown-ups who only watch, so buy a non-skating chaperone ticket if you are not going on the ice. Children under 6 must skate with an adult (18+), children 7–13 must be supervised, and children may not be carried on the ice. Phones, cameras and bags are not allowed on the ice; complimentary lockers hold small items, and skates can be rented on site or you can bring your own. The rink runs outdoors in most weather; in severe weather sessions can be delayed or cancelled and tickets rescheduled. Tickets are non-refundable but can be rescheduled up to 24 hours ahead. In December the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree stands above the rink, so holiday slots sell fast; book a timed ticket in advance.
