On the Election Day and Veterans Day school holidays the Prospect Park Alliance runs a day of family programs. At the Prospect Park Audubon Center (free, 10 a.m.–3 p.m.) children make leaf art, dig into a hands-on leaf-litter activity to find the seeds and insects on the forest floor, and at 2 p.m. join a Fall Leaf Discovery walk, a citizen-science outing with an observation guide that leaves the center promptly. Lefferts Historic House holds free ReImagine Lefferts open hours with indoor and outdoor family exhibits and activities about the Indigenous Lenape and the Africans enslaved by the Lefferts family. The Carousel in the Children's Corner runs 12–5 p.m. at $3 a ride.
