The Snowflake 5K is a post-Christmas run and walk in the Hudson River village of Nyack on Sunday, December 27, benefiting the Nyack Community Ambulance Corps and starting from its building on North Midland Avenue. Children up to age 10 run a free Kids Fun Run of about 100 to 200 yards at 9:30 a.m., and every child gets a medal; the race page adds that Frosty may make an appearance. The 5K for older runners starts at 10:00 a.m., with the fee rising on November 29. It is a good way for families to get outside during the winter school break.
