About this adventure

The Metropolitan Library System opens the holiday season by lighting a 34-foot tree in the atrium of the Ronald J. Norick Downtown Library. Families count down to the lighting and stay for live music, a special holiday storytime, ornament-making crafts, sweet treats and refreshments. It is listed for all ages: kids, teens and adults. The tree stays up through the season as a backdrop for family photos and the library's later 'Tunes by the Tree' lunchtime concerts. The two-hour evening event is downtown, close to the OKC Streetcar (free fares through the season) and the other Downtown in December attractions, so it fits easily into a night out to see the lights. The library warns that food served may have come into contact with tree nuts, soy or other allergens.
