About this adventure

The City of Newcastle starts the holiday season with Christmas in the Park at Veterans Park, the town's largest park, set beside the elementary school, public library and multi-purpose center. The afternoon brings live entertainment, holiday vendors and festive activities for all ages. Families can come from 3 p.m. to browse, listen to the performers and let the children enjoy the holiday fun. The day builds to the city's annual lighting of the community Christmas tree at 6 p.m., so plan to stay into the evening and dress for the cold. Local vendors and groups sign up to take part through the city's online form. The park is just west of Highway 62 (Main Street) and can be reached from NW 10th Street or NW 16th Street; event parking is in the lot south of 10th Street.
