About this adventure

The Oklahoma Railway Museum near NE 36th Street and I-35 is a mostly outdoor, volunteer-run museum of vintage diesel locomotives, historic passenger coaches and railroad artifacts that tell how railroads shaped Oklahoma. Museum admission is free (donations welcome), so it is an easy drop-in for train-loving children; dress for the weather. Regular train rides from the Oakwood Depot run on the first and third Saturdays from May through August ($12 adults, $5 children 3-12, under 3 free on a lap) at 11:15 am, 1:15 pm and 3:15 pm. The museum closes for regular visits in November and December, when it hosts The Polar Express Train Ride (November 20 - December 31, 2026, ticketed separately), and reopens in January. Trains have a wheelchair lift and an accessible coach.
