About this adventure

Children learn a few simple macramé knots and use them to make a small holiday tree in this Saturday-morning fiber arts class at the Horizon West Branch Library in Winter Garden. The class is recommended for ages 6 to 12, and the library lists the skills it expects: fine motor control for handling yarn or fabric, hand-eye coordination, and basic cutting and threading. Materials are provided from a limited selection; students who want a particular color may bring their own cord, which should be cord rather than yarn and should unravel easily at the ends for fringe. Children 10 and under must have a caregiver in the library, who can join the class if space allows or wait outside within sight of the classroom door. The class has 10 places and runs from 10:30 to 11:30 am on December 19; registration is required and opens November 1.
