About this adventure
Oakland Nature Preserve's monthly Science Saturday is a 90-minute hands-on nature program for families in the preserve's classroom near Lake Apopka. November's topic is turtles: children learn how Florida's turtles and tortoises live, what role these reptiles play in local ecosystems, and meet one of the preserve's shelled animal ambassadors up close. It suits curious preschool and elementary-age children with a grown-up, and families can walk the preserve's trails or the boardwalk to the lake afterwards. Registration is required online; pricing is per family group of three or more or per individual, with member discounts. Spaces are limited.
