Brandywine Zoo's Halloween Sip & Stroll is an early-evening walk through the zoo billed as a family-friendly happy hour: guests visit the animals after regular hours while a local food vendor and live music set the mood. Adult beverages such as craft beer and wine are sold for grown-ups, and the concession stand stays open with snacks and soft drinks for kids. Costumes are encouraged, with two costume contests at 6:30 pm, one for kids under 18 and one for adults; each has five contestants who sign up at check-in, and each winner gets a prize. The event runs rain or shine and only a limited number of tickets are sold. Food and drinks are paid separately (drink tickets are $6 and silicone cups can be bought at the ticket window or snack bar). Children 2 and under get in free.
