Seedlings is Desert Botanical Garden's January nature-play class for children ages 3 to 5 and their caretakers. Each Wednesday morning session has a new theme and new activities: songs, hands-on lessons and play that teach kids and adults to splash, dig, climb and explore nature together, plus learning materials so families can keep exploring at home. Classes meet in the Cactus Clubhouse inside the Weisz Learning Center, which has indoor and outdoor space, and children may stay to play in the Cactus Clubhouse for another hour afterwards. Expect to get muddy, messy and wet, so dress in clothes that can get dirty, and arrive 15 minutes early. Sessions run 9:30 to 11 a.m. on January 6, 13, 20 and 27; tickets are sold per session at $14.95.
