A Halloween-themed after-dark hike at San Tan Mountain Regional Park with Ranger Shaun to look for spiders, scorpions, snakes and other creepy crawlies with flashlights and blacklights, and to learn where they live, what they eat and how they do the 'creepy' things they do. Flashlights, closed-toe shoes and water bottles are required; UV lights are encouraged (the ranger brings at least one) and walking sticks can help on the trail in the dark. The rangers call it family friendly but ask parents to consider younger children's sensitivity to darkness. Meet at the trailhead staging area. Limit 10; register by phone with the Nature Center by October 20.
