About this adventure
Lakewood Theatre Company stages the holiday musical Irving Berlin's White Christmas on its main stage at the Lakewood Center for the Arts in Lake Oswego. Built around Irving Berlin's songs, with a book by David Ives and Paul Blake, it follows World War II veterans and song-and-dance partners Bob Wallace and Phil Davis, who chase the singing Haynes sisters to a Vermont lodge and end up putting on a Christmas show to rescue their old commanding officer's struggling inn — with tap numbers, a big band sound and, finally, snow. It is a full-length Broadway-style evening, so it suits older children, tweens and teens who enjoy musicals, or younger ones at the 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday matinees. Evening shows run Thursday to Saturday at 7:30 p.m. from November 6 to December 20, with Wednesday performances on November 18 and December 16 and no show on Thanksgiving. Tickets are sold through Lakewood's box office.
