About this adventure

Wildlife educator Dr. Danielle Lincoln brings Jessie, a red-tailed hawk, to Cranston's Central Library for a half-hour Saturday morning presentation on raptor biology, ecology and conservation. Jessie was injured as a juvenile when the tree the hawk was perched in was cut down; the broken wrist healed in a way that left the hawk unable to fly, so Jessie now works as a wildlife ambassador. Families get a close look at a live bird of prey while Dr. Lincoln talks about adaptations, diet, life cycle, habitat and how hawks live alongside people. The program is listed for all ages and takes place in the James T. Giles Community Room; registration is open online.
