About this adventure
A free family afternoon at the Newport Art Museum inspired by Día de los Muertos and the current exhibitions. There is hands-on art-making, storytelling, scavenger hunts and music, and Halloween costumes are welcome. Jesús de la Torre tells Día de los Muertos stories about the holiday's traditions and the meaning of the ofrenda (altar) at 12:30, 1:30 and 2:30 pm. Families can join museum educators and Conexión Latina Newport staff to make traditional decorations for the museum's community ofrenda. All materials are provided. The Viking Trolley runs free pickups from Equality Park, the MLK Jr. Community Center and Conexión Latina from 11:45 am.
