About this adventure

Downtown Clayton's Main Street turns into a holiday village for one evening each December, ending with the lighting of the Town of Clayton Christmas tree. From 5 to 8 pm local businesses between Horne Square and Town Square hold an open house, with twinkling light displays, live performances and holiday treats along the street. For families the town lists a trackless train ride, photos inside a giant inflatable snow globe, a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, glitter tattoos and seasonal crafts for children. Everyone then gathers in Town Square at 7:15 pm for the tree lighting with music. It is a compact, walkable evening that suits all ages, from strollers to grandparents; dress warmly and plan to park a few blocks away and walk in, since Main Street is the event space.
