About this adventure

The Town of Fuquay-Varina marks the official start of its holiday season with the Town Tree Lighting in downtown Fuquay on the first Thursday evening of December. The two-hour evening gathers residents downtown for the countdown and the lighting of the town's Christmas tree, a short, free-to-attend community tradition that suits families with young children because it ends by 8 pm. Plan to arrive early to park and find a spot near the tree, dress warmly, and bring a flashlight or glow stick for small children. The following evening, Friday, December 4, the Fuquay-Varina Downtown Association holds its First Friday sip-and-stroll downtown, and the town's Christmas Parade follows on Sunday, December 6, so the tree lighting opens a full weekend of downtown holiday events.
