About this adventure
Lake Crabtree County Park celebrates Halloween with a month of creepy-critter fun. Through Oct 31, families can follow the self-guided Creepy Crawly scavenger hunt along the lakeshore to learn why bugs earned that name, starting at the Manager's Office (second left after the entrance) and finishing with a prize. The month's StoryWalk, Pumpkin Jack by Will Hubbell, is posted along the paved trail from the Beech Shelter playground. Registered extras include a costume-friendly Open Paddle on Oct 25 and a free all-ages Full Moon Hike on Oct 27 (6–8 pm), an under-1.5-mile walk under the Hunter's Moon to learn how animals adapt to the dark — bring headlamps.
