About this adventure
Hour-long Science Detectives classes for homeschool and track-out students at the Natural Sciences museum, held in three age bands on the same morning. Coastal Critters (ages 5–7) is an imaginary trip to the North Carolina coast with experiments, games and animal encounters. Tropical Biodiversity (ages 8–10) explores where the tropics are and visits the Living Conservatory to find butterflies, turtles, a tarantula, a snake and a two-toed sloth. Microscopic Pond Life (11 and older) uses compound microscopes to find life in a drop of pond water. Classes are drop-off, but an adult must stay in the museum; registration closes 48 hours before start.
