About this adventure
A monthly naturalist-led hike at Prairie Ridge Ecostation, the Natural Sciences museum's field station in west Raleigh. The two-hour walk covers both woods and prairie, and the naturalist shows participants how to read the landscape as it changes through the year. Along the way you learn to photograph mystery plants and animals with the iNaturalist app so your sightings feed into collaborative (citizen) science. Suitable for children 5 and up with an adult, and for teens who like being outside; bring a charged phone, water and shoes that can handle a muddy trail. Pre-registration is required for all Prairie Ridge programs.
