About this adventure
NC State University's public garden and living laboratory, with one of the largest collections of garden plants adapted to the Southeast. Families can wander themed gardens on paths suitable for strollers and wheelchairs (some unpaved paths are rougher in wet weather; wheelchairs can be borrowed free), using the visitor guide map. Children must be supervised and stay on paths; bikes, scooters, skates, balls, kites and pets are not allowed, so plan a walking visit. The arboretum also runs dated children's programs such as Garden Story Walks and Budding Explorers, and week-long summer garden camps from preschool through rising 8th grade. Limited free parking in the lot and along Beryl Road.
