About this adventure

Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources lights up part of E. Carroll Joyner Park for a free, walkable holiday display through most of December. Families stroll the paths of the Walker Garden and the Performance Garden, where dozens of colorful light strands wrap the crepe myrtle trees and shrubs, and a nearly 20-foot-tall Christmas tree stands on the Performance Garden stage. It is a short, easy loop that works well with strollers and small children, takes as long or as little time as you like, and is a popular spot for family holiday photos. There is no ticket or registration; just come any evening during the run between 6 and 9 pm. Dress for the weather, bring a flashlight for the walk back to the car, and combine it with the park's playground or trails earlier in the day if you visit before dark.
