About this adventure

An aviation museum near Sacramento McClellan Airport, with rare military jets and historic aircraft indoors and in an outdoor Air Park, plus hands-on STEM exhibits aimed at kids and adults alike. The Flight Zone is a STEM lab with six flight-simulator stations running X-Plane 12, where aviation instructors coach visitors from beginners to middle and high schoolers through takeoffs, flights and landings; availability varies, so the museum asks families to call ahead to reserve a simulator slot. An exhibit draws on artifacts donated by McClellan's Tuskegee Airmen chapter. The museum is open Thursday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (last admission 4 p.m.), and closed Monday to Wednesday and on major holidays. Members get free year-round admission and the museum runs monthly events included with general admission.
