About this adventure
Placer Theatre Ballet is a nonprofit youth ballet company that casts young dancers from across the region, through open auditions, in significant roles alongside professional guest artists. Its annual Nutcracker follows Clara from her family's Christmas party through the snowflake scene and into the Land of the Sweets, where the toys and treats of her dream come to life. With eight performances over two December weekends, including midday matinees at 12 and 1 p.m., it is one of the easier Nutcrackers in the foothills to fit around naps and young children's bedtimes, and a good first ballet for school-age kids, especially those who take dance classes themselves. Performances are in the Placer High School theater in Auburn; tickets are sold through the company's Eventbrite collection, which lists each showing separately.
