Every Friday afternoon, children aged 5 to 12 can read aloud to a therapy dog in the Children's Activity Room at the Davis branch library. The library notes that animals are ideal reading companions because they listen without judging, which helps build confidence for new or hesitant readers. There are no advance reservations: children sign up for a 10-minute reading slot at the Children's Desk on the afternoon of the program, first come, first served. Bring a favorite book or choose one at the library.
